I haven’t been able to post yet so I am playing catch up.
The meat free challenge has been going well so far, with the whole family joining in. Apart from a slight craving for meat around day 10, it’s been good fun exploring recipes using mainly pulses and lots of vegetables. There was an initial overreliance on pasta as the go to food but recently I have made more adventurous choices and cooked tofu for the first time which was a bit of a revelation.
One of the first highlights of the challenge was to make my own nan bread which is just about the only thing I would buy from the shop to accompany our home made curries – they were SO good! I’m never buying another plastic packed nan bread from the shop.

Hi Caroline! Welcome, Leonie here from cCHANGE. Thanks for the update. Sounds like it has been going really well. Those naan breads do look great! I wouldn't mind getting the recipe for that too. It's great to read your progress, that you have been experimenting with new dishes and that the family is involved. It sounds like the tofu went down well. Linking to the collective scale, how have you experienced the systems and cultures that you interact with while doing this challenge, e.g. the supermarket - are there plenty of vegetarian options? I am curious if other members of your family have had conversations about this challenge with people around them at school/uni/work etc.? It sounds like you have all adapted really well. But have you experienced any challenging moments, where vegetarian food was not an easy option? Thanks for a great update and look forward to reading more, if you have the chance. Warm wishes, Leonie Respond

The nan bread recipe comes from my go to recipe book for curries, Madhur Jaffrey's Curry Bible. I couldn't find the exact recipe online but if you google it, any of the ones that come up should be close enough, including this one: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/wordofmouth/2014/oct/02/how-to-make-perfect-naan-bread-recipe Respond
